Lutheran daily prayer

Prayer through the ordinary day

Choose morning, evening or a mealtime reminder sheet. Use it beside your own catechism or prayer book, then print or save the checklist. Your marks stay only for this visit.

A place for prayer in the day

Mark the reminders you have used

These are reminders, not prayer texts. Use your own catechism or prayer book. Each routine keeps its marks separately for this visit. Changes disappear when you leave or reload.

Your printable checklist

Morning prayer checklist

  • ☐Make room to begin the day in prayer
  • ☐Use the Creed and Lord's Prayer in your prayer book
  • ☐Use the morning thanksgiving prayer if you choose
  • ☐Go into the day with the work before you

A personal reminder sheet, not a measure of your faith.

Use the catechism beside the checklist

The Small Catechism includes daily prayer for morning and evening, as well as blessing and thanksgiving at meals. Concordia Publishing House provides the text online. This page links to that source rather than reproducing its copyrighted English translation.

The checklist is a set of original reminders. It does not contain the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer or the catechism’s full prayers. Keep your own book nearby so the sheet points you back to the words you use.

Give each part of the day its place

Choose Morning or Evening for the corresponding reminders. The catechism’s instructions connect those times with the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer and include a further prayer that may be used. The checklist keeps that optional character in its wording.

Before a meal and After a meal have their own short reminder sheets. These are separate from the morning and evening lists. Choose the one you want to print rather than carrying every routine on a crowded page.

Mark reminders without making a score

The boxes help you see which reminders you have used during this visit. They do not record a spiritual achievement, an obligation met or a measure of faith. There is no daily streak or saved history.

Each routine keeps its marks separately while the page is open. Switching from morning to evening does not erase the morning boxes. Reset this checklist clears only the routine you are viewing.

Take the sheet away from the screen

A printout can sit beside your catechism, while a text copy can serve as a simple reminder in a place you choose. Both contain the checklist you are viewing, with its current marks.

Use the official source for the prayer texts and your congregation’s guidance for household practice. This web sheet is independent of Concordia Publishing House and does not replace a prayer book or pastoral instruction.

Questions

Are the prayer texts included?

No. This page has original reminders and a link to the Small Catechism text from Concordia Publishing House. Use your own catechism or prayer book alongside it.

Do the boxes create a saved daily record?

No. Marks stay in this page’s memory only. They disappear when you reload or leave.

What does Reset this checklist clear?

Only the routine you are viewing. Other routine marks remain until you reset them, reload or leave.
