Personal preparation reminders

Your own preparation, not a Master Guide requirement record. Keep child names, contact details and safeguarding records in your church's approved system. Changes disappear when you leave or reload.

Keep the programme and the planner distinct

General Conference Adventist Youth Ministries describes Master Guide as a youth-ministry leadership development programme and provides curriculum and record resources. Those official materials determine requirements. This sheet helps with practical preparation around the next step you agree with your mentor.

It is not a Master Guide record card, a training assessment or an accreditation service. Marking its boxes does not complete a class, requirement or award. Keep official records through your local programme’s process.

Prepare with the people responsible

Begin by reviewing the relevant official material with your mentor. Choose one next action instead of copying the whole curriculum into a personal task list. The note field can hold that action and what you need to prepare for the conversation.

For a gathering, consider the worship contribution, adult roles, equipment and local communication. The reminders are deliberately broad: your church or conference’s arrangements provide the detail that a generic web sheet cannot know.

Keep safeguarding in the right place

Follow your local safeguarding policies and the directions of those responsible for the activity. This checklist is not a substitute for training, permissions, risk assessment or approved records. It does not assess whether a person or activity is safe.

Do not add child names, contact details, attendance information or safeguarding concerns to the note. Keep those in your church’s approved system. A short preparation action, without personal records, is enough for this sheet.

Make space to review afterward

A short conversation after a session can help turn preparation into learning. Ask what served the group, where adult coordination could improve and what you will prepare differently next time. Agree any further training with your mentor.

For an actual Pathfinder meeting agenda, use the existing timed planner. For a short family worship activity, use the Adventurer planner. This page adds adult preparation around those gatherings rather than duplicating their schedules.
